The undergraduate showcase brought forward a lot of talent, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time watching these students share their work.
Having the pieces of work read aloud by the writer themselves, in my opinion, was very effective. In particular, I wanted to bring attention towards Lena Tosenberger, who read non-fiction verse from her collection ‘Buy My Silence’. I think her reading was particularly evocative, and I look forward to reading more of her work.
A lot of the students in the showcase tackled sensitive topics, such as self-harm and suicide, which I think was done graciously and I really enjoyed listening to their work.
