Today’s showcase was made extra special by the fact that it was the first of its kind to be held in front of a live audience in the past two years.
Poets and creative writers from all three years read an eclectic mix of pieces, from the beautiful ‘Saudade’ by Noe Ponte, a poem about the Portuguese word and the sense of longing, to ‘Hopscotch is a Game for One’ by Lena Tosenberger; a poem that explores important topics of self-acceptance and the views of society.
Other pieces included excerpts from stories, prose poetry and readings from books that third year students have independently published and currently have on sale – how exciting!
